What special techniques will we use?

  • Provisional cast on. There are many different ones. This blanket was designed using a crochet chain cast on. YouTube has many great tutorials, along with Knitty.com.
  • Single crochet. Instead of binding off, the blanket uses a suspended bind off with waste yarn and a single crochet border. This is to give the edge stability while blocking.
  • Short rows. German short rows are used.
  • Kitchner stitch. Used to graft blocks together.
  • 3 stitch I-cord bind off. Used as an edging on completed blanket.
