SWTC Phoenix BY THE BAG

Product Description

THIS IS FOR ONE BAG which is 10 balls and approx 2.2 lbs of yarn total.

  1. SOY happy to have found this yarn! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Dec 2020

I've been hard-pressed to find a cheap vegan yarn that isn't scratchy and harmful to the environment. In comes Phoenix to save the day! The colors are beautiful - I ordered #94 Rose and #101 Serenity. This tape yarn is light, airy, and really looks beautiful worked up. The stitch definition is amazing! I've been teaching my coworkers to crochet with this yarn since the stitches are easy to see and work into. I'm making a sweater and the drape is very nice. The yarn does twist, but it does not feel rough when crocheted. I used a smaller sized hook to compensate for the gaps made by the twisted tape. The yarn feels very durable and I'm excited to be making many more projects for my vegan friends and family with this yarn.

  2. Can't beat the colors or the price 4 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Aug 2020

The two bags of Phoenix I ordered were spectacular. I got #101 and #102. I did not realize this yarn was a tape instead of just regular yarn, so I am going to challenged as to what I will make and how well I will be able to handle the difference.

  3. Yarn broken, knotted together 2 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Apr 2015

I like the yarn, but I'm really disappointed that in the 5 skeins I have used, 4 of them had broken yarn that was knotted together so the skein seemed whole. That's poor quality to me and now I have more joining work to do to complete my project.

  4. Love that it's eco-friendly, don't love that it's flat 4 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Sep 2014

I love that this yarn is made with tofu manufacturing leftovers and is friendly to our earth. It works up nicely in certain stitch patterns, but not in others. The yarn is flat, which twists a lot and makes for slow progress, but I do love it. It never splits. It's heavy and gives a good solid feeling to the fabric.

  5. Soft and squishy 4 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Apr 2014

The color is pretty and it's very soft and velvet-like. Because it's a tape-style yarn, it twists a bit and there are gaps that a flufflier yarn would fill up. So it depends on what you are knitting. Fun to work with and easy to slip around on the needles.
